I think those of us who are naturally cautious and courteous will just need to further extend our vigilance while we carry on as usual keeping pedestrians safe. I’m guessing though that the majority of drivers on the road do not fall into the above category. My advice to pedestrians would be “Don’t expect most drivers to either know or obey the change of priority rules”.
I find a great difference with drivers here in the countryside compared to the large cities, especially London, however with constant traffic jams, and having lived their for many years I understand the frustration.
