I know MG U.K. (SAIC) is primarily just a tiny operation and in essence just importer – NB logistics is an alien concept to them – which impacts in dealers etc…
when I ordered my MG HS in March 2020 before lockdown etc…
I had to ring around several dealers, before finding a dealer with an April delivery slot, whilst others stated a June or July delivery etc…
in the end my April delivery became July for obvious reasons.
imho – be it MG or other marques – phone around dealers and you may find some who have pre Reg / delivery mileage new stock , if you’re willing to travel.
Albeit test drive at your nearest dealer, whomever you end up ordering with.
I managed to get a 24hr test drive back in the day too (as I’ve always requested in historic motability cars shortlisted before o finally order).
I am now registered with my third MG dealer – the first I only ordered from as further away but quicker to procure the car.
the second MG dealer I gave up on and had to get motsbility operations to intervene, as I felt the dealership were sub standard in diagnostics and not solution focussed.
I’m now with a third MG ‘managing’ dealer – mainly as it’s a brand new franchise for the dealer group and much closer than any other (less than 2 miles from my house).
