    Sucks. 🙁

We have the same car (2019 Ateca), thankfully that has never been an issue. One question though, when you got locked out, you said “no phone, no key” – where was the key?

The reason i’m asking, we did find out something interesting about our key, which might be the reason why your car is locking itself/locked you out. Do you have KESSY/keyless entry?

We do. And if i have my phone in my pocket, together with the key, KESSY won’t work. I can’t unlock the car, i assume that’s because the phone signal covers the (considerably weaker) key signal. You said that you had “no phone, no key” (i’m assuming here that the phone was in the car as well), if the key was too close to the phone, it might’ve lost “connection” and locked the doors/immobilised the same way as if you walk away from your car and it doesn’t detect the key anymore.

Ever since i keep phone and key in separate pockets, we never had an issue with locking/unlocking. Just as an alternative explanation, could of course also be an electronic gremlin – just suggesting an alternative.

As for our day, we had a £1200 vet bill today, so.. not  the greatest either.
