As for Arnold Clark – yup, pretty typical of them, they are, on the whole, not the best nor most knowledgeable out there. I avoid them unless I have no choice (sadly they seem to be the favoured dealership for some marques in Scotland so it can be hard to find an alternative dealer). £5k AP, that’s truly ridiculous for what it is.
I recently undertook a test drive of a Kona in Aberdeen and was told the reason for them reintroducing accompanied test drives was because they had had several high value cars stolen whilst being test driven uncomplicated in the central belt. @ Abercol I’ve found the staff at Hyundai Falkirk and Glasgow next to the M8 to be very helpful, the staff at Aberdeen were as you said almost useless when I asked about certain things on the car.
