Could someone explain why, on the Peugeot site, that the 5008 Allure Premium is more money, than the second to top of the range, GT? It’s just absurd. Have they even realised? The Allure Premium in terms of trim level is further down the list so just how can this be? Would we go to BMW and see an M3 worth less than a 318… The whole system is just absurd. Where I’m gonna find £3749 from is beyond me, I wish I’d never ordered now, constant anxiety and worried to death that I just can’t afford it. Oh well. Absolute nightmare.

It occasionally happens on the scheme, for example where the expected value of the higher specced model is expected to be much higher than a lower spec model at lease end as it may be more desirable.

Also, as we are not party to what Peugeot and Motability discuss, it could be that Peugeot have a reason for wanting to push the higher spec model over the lower spec one. For example if Peugeot have a lot of parts ‘in the bins’ for the higher spec model but are short of lower spec trim or other parts.

These are just a couple of examples where this could possibly occur.

If you are worried now about affordability of the vehicle, have you for example considered cancelling it and to give a few possibilities:

    1.      Extend your current lease if you have a suitable vehicle.

    2.      Look for a vehicle with a lower AP.

You will not win any friends at the dealership nor Motability if you turn up after they have registered the new vehicle in your name and say ‘Sorry, I can’t afford it’

The earlier you cancel the better, if only for your piece of mind and anxiety levels if you know already you cannot afford it.
