Well, including options, our Golf GTE runs us £5200.
That’s not taking offset through fuel savings into account.
It’s not a zero sum game to us, i don’t need to drive “the best deal possible”. I need to drive something that i can reasonably afford and gives us joy. If that car is £6000 (not that there’s something on the scheme currently that i’d pay £6000 for – but that’s not to say that i wouldn’t pay that for a C 200 AMG Line Premium Plus for example), then that sucks, but i’d rather drive a £6000 car and lose some money at the end – but had 3-5 years of enjoyable motoring, than driving a £1000 car that we don’t enjoy “owning” or driving.
Of course, the AP doesn’t play a factor in whether or not we enjoy a car. We did enjoy the ID3 too, which was (comparatively) cheap as chips and the first choice until we fell in love with the GTE. It’s just that it doesn’t play a factor in either direction, whether it be cheap or whether it be expensive.
