Didn’t do much more than Mitch in recently returned Mini. About 1,100 per year. Covid lockdowns main factor. I know that I’d save a lot of dough by getting a secondhand car. Two problems with that: a) cannot cope with having to deal with host of insurance/tax/breakdown/windscreen etc people as well as find a car. Motab’s all-inclusive nature is a major USP for me. b) With one exception (Nissan 200SX) every secondhand car I’ve bought had chronic faults which have cost the earth to rectify. Three or four of them have been impossible to sell 0n and went to breakers. Secondhand car sellers (and I include main dealers in this) are all a bunch of lying villains.

If I DO have to go this route, I figure I’ll just order a non-diesel Skoda Superb (i.e. not a former cab). Probably go for one of the top-0f-range L&K versions as they are better value as used cars.
