The engine in the X1 20i is indeed incredibly quiet and refined, probably more so than any other car I have driven (and I’ve driven hundreds, including loads that cost a lot more). It’s obviously not down to soundproofing as there is more road noise than some other cars. I still can’t get my head around the fact that it’s returning better mpg than our last diesel!
As for the ambient lighting, I have cranked it up so that it’s visible in daylight as well as at night ?
