After waiting 7 months my X1 2.0i X-Line X-Drive was delivered on Saturday and i’m extremely pleased with it! I chose Mineral White with black interior this time around having had Mineral Grey and beige interior previously. There has been a few changes, notably the removal of front passenger seat width adjustment, rear bench seat adjustment and remote rear seat boot fold down function. Those ommissions have been more than made up with the full exterior LED lighting, standard fit power fold mirrors and dimming rear view mirror which were previously extra cost options and the addition of front parking assistance. I chose Sports front seats, Privacy glass and front seat lumbar support as extra cost options. The drive appears more smoother and fuel efficient than my previous X1 even though the horse power is down slightly from 192ps to 178ps which is unoticeable. If this X1 is as good as my previous one which travelled 30,000 miles I shall be one happy motorist!
Great news NosherN. I’m sure you know, but whilst the standard rear seat bench doesn’t roll backwards and forwards any more, the backrest angle remains adjustable. Thankfully, my wife’s wheelchair fits in the boot, with room to spare, even with them in the most reclined position, something which I couldn’t do in the Tiguan that it replaced. I was anxious about the Sport seats (being of, ahem, a wider berth) but they are absolutely fine for me and, if anything, the firmer seat bases make getting out even easier.
Someone has just posted that the X1 is being removed from the scheme at the end of this week, which will be a real shame. Let’s hope that the next generation X1 makes an appearance by the next time we change!
