Is this usual for so called non-premium brands? I assumed free satnav updates were the norm these days like they are with BMW and Volvo.
Wigwam – I had a message in the iDrive in our new X1 the other day to say that it had updated the Sat Nav. I didn’t have to do anything other than accept the change (one click). This surprised me as it has iDrive 6 and not the newest iDrive 7. I presume that it must have done it through the in-built kit with the Connected Drive? Did your old X1 do this or is it perhaps because I had to have the higher spec Sat Nav in order to get the Head Up Display that I wanted? On my last BMW (2015 5 Series) I had to download an update on a Memory Stick and plug it in to the car, although that had an even older version of iDrive. I had assumed that I would need to do the same with the X1.
