In the past and in general car sales staff avoid Motability customers. Often with the following, sorry our Motability guy is at another site, he is on holiday, he is off sick. They may offer to take your details and pass “them on” to the Motability person. This has been my experience over the last 20 years.
This last round of looking for our next Motability car was even worse than all the previous times. I found a total lack of interest from sales persons. One guy noted my phone number then dropped it into a draw, no name or car I was interested in on it. Never got a call back.
So long ago I stopped saying I was a Motability customer and behaved as if I was going to buy a car. Suddenly sales persons were interested and tests drives “if you can call them that” were made available.
Once I decide what car I want I then phone the dealership, make an appointment with the Motability person and then and only then go in and order the car.
