I realise this forums a few months old but thought I would give you the information I found out
Due to production issues (global shortage of microchips being the main one) oh and some sort of global pandemic, VW has had to reduce production, because of this VW withdrew several models from the Motability scheme, since this decision was made production is ramping back up,It is plausible that the All the previous VW range (including Seat and Skoda models) will be returning to the Motability Scheme, the earliest date would be after the next Motability Sales quarter that will begin in October 2021,
Even retail customers can only currently order models like the Sharan that have been prebuilt
I have asked Motability to increase my lease time for another six months and hope that by then the Sharan will be available
The information was given to me off the record as it was not an official VW statement and any dates are subject to normality returning in some form or another e.g if VW have not increased production enough before October it could be January or even longer before the all the VW models will be available on Motability again.
I hope this will help some of you who are in the same position as me have already mentioned the Ford Galaxy is available and is a similar style and size, but theres a chance the Sharan will be available before the year is out (fingers crossed)
