I can’t understand why a cap is only applicable to an entry model and that then justifies vehicles over £10k more being on the scheme. It would be much better to increase the cap to a figure that would allow an increase in the no. Of models available but the cap would then be the cap and not some ambiguous figure that seems to be very flexible for some manufacturers.
I’ve never agreed with price caps, as long as all the extra costs of more expensive cars are covered through the AP, but your proposal certainly makes a lot more sense than the current policy which is applied or ignored when it suits Motability, with no obvious consideration for the needs of customers.
