Q4: Does anyone know how prices or availability of new cars will be affected for Q4? Would also love to know if any new electric cars will be joining such as Tesla ?
The cheapest Tesla is £41k, so unless the scheme rules change it wouldn’t be eligible for Motability. The cars that are currently on the scheme that are over £40k have an ‘entry’ model within the price caps, so therefore meet the criteria. Then, of course, there’s the whole issue of Daily Mail style perception (“free Tesla’s for people on benefits”) and the fact that I believe that there are waiting lists of about a year for Tesla’s so they don’t need to even entertain Motability!
As for Q4, I agree with others that any changes will probably be negative (more cars removed / increases to AP’s etc). I suspect that it will be next year before things start to improve.
