Andy, I would say 95% of modern cars are not pretty and very few in the affordable category, aimed at mere mortals. Many are striking, but pretty, no. The push for SUV’s and crossovers has means that any style is hampered from scratch as you start off with a brick and chisel something out of that. Its no wonder that 20 inch wheels is now considered essential on such heavy designs. The state of car design is dreadful.
However within those parameters, like you, I applaud Kia’s bravado in doing something different. Unlike you, I am guessing, I would be happy to be seen in one. especially if its loaded, has a good range and is a low AP on Motability. It’s my number one on the shortlist for ordering in January.
