I spoke to Inchcape in Swindon, who were prepared to release a stock Max for me, but they didn’t have the colour I wanted without me paying an extra £3000 , on top of the AP, for a heat pump, alloy wheels and a charging cable, which I don’t want, frankly!
Lookers in Walton on Thames had a bunch of Manganese colour Max ID.3’s any one of which they were prepared to let me have via Motability, but the wife is adamant about getting the right colour, so I lost out there again.
So, some dealers will ‘play ball” whereas others just play ‘silly beggars’ .
I have ordered an ID.4 Life Pure , with the lowest AP, and which is pretty basic compared to the ID. 3 Max spec., but has more room inside , and is slightly easier to climb in and out of, but is likely to take up to 5 months to arrive, so I have a promise that in the meantime if any ID.3 Max ( which is my first choice ) appear on the dealers factory pipeline , without a load of extras onboard, I have the option of swopping to the ID.3, and probably will, if the delivery is much sooner than that of the 4?
