Can understand the sonic bangs being a bit energetic if the Typhoons were at relatively low level. Hard to work out exactly what happened and where, at least from local press who all report different versions. Some say the flight was on approach to Leeds, some Newcastle. Moreover, the fighters’ base, Coningsby is said, variously, to be in Lincs and Notts. Whatever, still very poor performance of flight crew not to tell passengers WTF was happening. A Typhoon is an extremely sharp, pointy thing, especially when deploying flaps, slats etc and flying nose up – to fly slowly enough to shadow the airliner. Not to mention all the guns, missiles etc., hanging off wings! NOT something one would like to see from one’s airliner window.
