The problem it that, as with more and more GP surgeries, my ‘local’ GP surgery isn’t ‘real’ NHS any more but a private business that acts like one and then charges the NHS for services provided. Except for vital form-filling and Private referrals, which they (perfectly legally) use as a milch cow because they know they have their patients over the proverbial barrel.
My M.S. Consultant is NHS and has never charged me for filling forms for the DVLA (I have a short-term driving licence that has to be reassessed and renewed very 3 years. This will be my third and they’ve contacted him every time.)
