Was hoping somebody knew the answer to this for me. Basically, we currently have a used car which we don’t pay road tax due to disability. We have just signed up to out first car through Motability and was curious to know if we can still keep both the used car tax free and the motability car, are they separate things or will the DVLA contact us wanting us to start paying now? You can only have one road tax exemption for one vehicle only.
Your options are to pay the road tax on your second vehicle and have your Motability vehicle tax free, or keep your second vehicle ‘tax free’ and pay the road tax on your Motability vehicle (you will need to speak with Motability and your car dealer in order to do this).
