Hi Tim, I think the controls must be different in the Soul. To start, engage footbreak, press start button and then when you engage Reverse or Drive you can hear the handbreak release. When stopping, lift rocker switch to engage handbreak, which again is accompanied by a specific sound, press park in Centre of gear selector and finally press “off”.
