Your requirement seem to be much the same as mine car wise, auto, EHB, Auto-Hold, height to get in and out, boot for scooter, the nightmare goes on but at least I’m fortune that my carer wife became a pensioner last June so were using that to pay the AP on our next car, that was until it disappeared last month.
I know how hard it is finding suitable cars at the best of times but now so much harder now but wish you luck in finding something suitable and yes if it wasn’t for my wife’s pension (only state pension I must add) I would be going down the grants road too so well worth looking into that.
As for laughing dealership, and I hope they were laughing with you and not at you, I get a blank expression when I try to explain the hoops I have to jump through trying to do something as easy as raising the back seat back up after its been folded down flat for something.
