I was contacted yesterday by an account manager from motability after my concerns about not being able to order a golf GTD yesterday, & the fact so many popular vag cars have been taken off so quickly after just being put on, I also asked if the motability website could give customers the heads up if large numbers of cars are going to be taken off the scheme, i mentioned the fact that the ap’s were rising but the choice of the higher spec cars was falling, I also mentioned the anomaly that you can purchase a golf GTE with 242 bhp, but can’t get a golf GTI with the same bhp, because apparently the scheme’s insurance criteria, & I pointed out as the majority of motability’s customers are experienced mature drivers this is ridiculous, the gentleman I spoke to said my points were valid & is taking them forward to motability’s management, I won’t hold my breath, sorry for the long rant just totally disillusioned with the scheme at the moment as can’t find a suitable replacement for the golf GTD on the scheme.
