Does ordering via Mobility really delay new car builds over private orders
Yes. There’re various examples on this forum of dealers taking a Motability order and not submitting it to the factory, they may have build slots available to them but they take a Motability sale for granted, assuming that once you’ve ordered you’ll likely wait regardless. So with that in mind some unscrupulous dealerships will secure further orders with this build slots to private buyers who might be seen as more demanding over timeframes.
You’ll be none the wiser until 6 months have gone by and it turns out the order hasn’t been submitted to a build allocation spot, or it was, only months after the dealer inferred it would be.
