Made a follow-up ‘phone call to local hossie this afternoon because I’d used their on’line site to request an initial consultation with their Spine Specialist over 2 months ago and heard nothing back since, other than the initial acknowledgement and a warning that appointments were taking longer to arrange at the moment due to Covid.
Passed from pillar to post until somebody finally cracked and gave me the ‘phone number of the Consultant’s personal secretary. Gave her a call and (gollygoshshockhorrorwhatasurprise) it turns out that my Request had never been forwarded.
Sec. was brilliant, I have to confess – asked all the right questions and fixed me up for an appointment on (pause for dramatic effect) Friday 13th of August.
All I can say is – Thank goodness it wasn’t for cancer! (It’s where I went for that and they were pretty darned efficient then, to be fair. Seen in 3 days, operated on a week later, then 5 days recuperation in hossie and home again on the same day I received a letter from the NHS offering an initial consultation for five weeks time.)
