Something I found interesting, the AWD with the exact same 2.0 engine is actually quicker than the 2wd, despite presumably being heavier, maybe due to the better traction and grip ?
For reasons that I don’t understand, the 4WD version has a different (and much better) auto transmission than the 2WD. It’s also 8 speed versus 7 in the 2WD. Having driven both 2WD and 4WD versions of the X1 the 4WD definitely felt quicker as it had better traction when pulling away from rest and when driving ‘keenly’ ?
