I was in a similar position to you, couldnt decide between fully electric and PHEV, wanting something like the VW ID4, but in the end decided the Volvo XC40 T5 Recharge had everything we wanted. We dont do more than 8K miles a year and 90% of our journeys are less then 25 miles. I will be installing an outdoor normal socket and making use of a timer to charge the car on Octopus GO tariff at 5p per KW.
I do not think there is anything else like it on the scheme with the same build quality and ride comfort. we did look at the ID3, but the interior was a real let down.
The EQA could come on the scheme next quarter, but i do think it will be upwards of 4K AP if the GLA is anything to go by and one with a decent spec. But like Paul mentioned, you could always put an order in and if you change your mind just cancel.
We pick up our XC40 next saturday, luckily only took 2 months from ordering, and its an R-Design Pro in Glacier Silver. I really do think its one of the best looking cars on the road currently and available on the scheme.
