thanks for the insight lou.
ive been trying to get refferred to the pain clinic for nigh on 2 years for this problem and the gp kept putting it off and sending me here there and everywhere. in the end theyve introduced a practice physio advisor and about 3 months ago because of covid and no face to face appointments the next delaying tactic was a phone appointment with the physio advisor and i have to say she was awesome. she had reveiwed all the notes and scans the last mri etc and she went into great detail as to why i am having the issues i am and actually explained they cant do surgery so my only hope is pain releif and physio. she then dug into the pain clinic details and said she could refer me herself and would do as an urgent case.
anyway long story short i had a phone appointment with the consultant at the pain clinic 2 weeks ago and he went through it all and said the codeine obv isnt doing anything now as ive been on it so long and he would write to the gp and change the meds and get them to refer me for diet and physio/exercise etc.
so monday phone call from surgery to say they were changing the prescription and reffering me for the rest and i would hear shortly. annoying thinking this could all have been done 2 years ago.
years ago in a different part of the country i went to their pain clinic for my knees as they were reluctant to do a knee replacement as i had good movement and mobility just a lot of pain. they were good as well, microwave treatment and a tens machine and aqua therapy in a hydro pool twice a week. unfortunateley could only have 10 weeks of it but they are really good in my experience hence why i was trying to get there this time.
