In the short term, have you thought about using a trailer for your sons specialist equipment and stuff? I know it’s not idea, but if all other avenues fail, It is an option.
If you son needs so much special equipment, why did you not opt for a WAV (wheel chair accessible vehicle) Maybe that is something you should think about when you next renew.
Does your son have a social worker? if so you could approach them for help?
Motability charity may also be an option. However. They are very limited in what they help with.
