I have helped people through grant applications for a while, the last one was for a WAV for their severely disabled child. The process was lengthy, over six months, four demonstrations over that period and a visit from one of motability’s own external accessors.
This is so different from years ago. Speaking to the demonstrators from the wav companies is interesting as they do a lot of the groundwork for the grants team as they face to face with the customer. There is more requests going in for grants than ever before and as a result they need to be tougher with who and how they help.
