An incorrect interpretation of the rules.
Essentially access to work remains the same.
The only addition is that motability may cover elements for the social and domestic use of an aid or provision.
So someone working full time or in simple terms 5 days.
DWP pays 5 days
The customer would pay 2 days.
So the social and domestic use would be 2/7ths
Motability may provide a grant for that 2/7th rule
Where some people have used it is with powered wheelchairs
Hypothetical situation
Drive from wheelchair van £30k funded 100% via motability grants
The customer needs a new powered wheelchair at a cost of £7000
Access to work fund £5000
Motability the charity may fund the remaining £2000
