im slightly confused about the situation you find yourself in and @ MickC.
I read that you only got x amount, did you not get a list of cars to choose from? When I did my application at the beginning of January, they asked me what I needed I gave them my family size and size of special needs buggy, I gave over all these details even said I could afford £400. Motability grants team then sent me a letter with makes and models of cars that I could get these ranged from Vauxhall combo life £0 Ap to Peugeot 5008 £1749 Ap which meant I received £1749. Two days later received dealers letter with Ap of £1749.
If I can help any further I will try but most importantly persevere.
