    Really can’t see this “road link” working. Distance is about 12 miles and there are bridges and tunnels longer than this. The bridges seem to be all over very calm waters and erected about 20ft above the surface. Since the North Sea regularly produces waves at least twice this I very much doubt we can afford to build one strong enough to resist the ocean! Similarly the tunnel. We have neither the tech nor the money to do it.

    Never mind, sure the idea will fulfill its real purpose: many committees, study groups, quangos, and whatever else all composed of Boris’ mates who will trouser many million quid to come to the conclusion that it won’t work.
