That photo needs some explaining. There is a metal channel set in the pavement crossing from the kerb to a position by a brick pillar. There is a blue cable – or is it a pipe? – sitting in the channel and extending along the road gutter to some unseen place. The other end of the cable goes onto what appears to be private land. Intranicity suggests the cable is taken away by the driver. However a closer look shows a strap at the right hand end of the channel holding the cable in position and preventing it’s removal.
