So I just wanted to update you guys on my charging dilemma.
I cleared my front garden clearing pots plants etc managed to fit my car on the front garden went back to no charge, they still rejected me. I’m so gutted and now have to start looking again. Really gutted ?. I know worst things are happening out there so got to move forward

Why have they refused

Unfortunately I have suffered a brain injury and occasionally I get confused and often say the wrong thing.

No garage or drive way. Really not making things easy for disabled customers

I can recall I suggested you contact PodPoint, you do not have a drive, so I am assuming you can safely park and  intend of parking on your front garden and have a dropped kerb?

Unless you have a safe and clearly defined parking area they have a duty of care and are well within their right to refuse.

I live in a area designed for disabled people  so everything is flat no curbs etc. I will contact pod point tomorrow. Thank you for your help

Not an ideal solution but you could go private and have one fit, or just have a socket fit on the wall and buy a smart cable. Both will work fine and its not a requirement by Motability as they state on the site, if you cannot fit a charger opt for the subscription to the charge network then get one fit from someone else.

Wow. I don’t see the loose end of that cable fairing well when the road sweepers come along.

I think the idea is you take your cable with you when you drive off, just allows you to get your cable plugged in across a pavement without tripping people up, a really good idea.  As for road sweepers… do they still exist lol

Ah, I wrongly assumed it was a tethered cable. Makes sense now. Going to get messy though when that channel fills up with road grime.

That photo needs some explaining. There is a metal channel set in the pavement crossing from the kerb to a position by a brick pillar.  There is a blue cable – or is it a pipe? – sitting in the channel and extending along the road gutter to some unseen place. The other end of the cable goes onto what appears to be private land.  Intranicity suggests the cable is taken away by the driver.  However a closer look shows a strap at the right hand end of the channel holding the cable in position and preventing it’s removal.  If that’s the case then my original comment stands.  So, Ellie, can you say what this is about?

Thanks Ellie, looks like a better option than this, although I guess the Council would need to allow digging the channel into the pavement..
