So far I’ve used an app just once on a 7kW PodPoint post at a Tesco, it didn’t work, just sat there trying to connect until after I left the charger some 15 minutes later, but I got the initial 15 minutes from the charger anyway.

With PodPoint posts you can plug in, it starts to charge, then you have to “register” the charge using the app else it stops charging after 15 minutes.

I think those PodPoint posts had only just been installed & that they hadn’t yet been put onto the central PodPoint database as being live hence not resistering from the app.

The EV driver community constantly tells the charger companies that they don’t want these unreliable & stupid apps, but the apps are written by non EV drivers who imagine a World where everyone carries a phone around with them all the time. Why would you carry a means for the boss to contact you in your leisure time?
