Forgot to add, Glos, if you had to pick one of the cars you listed, what would you go for
The only one I have actually owned is the 5 Series (had 3 of them, a 2.0 diesel, 3.0 petrol and 3.0 diesel) and I can honestly say that it was the best car I have ever had, or even driven. I don’t say that lightly, having driven literally hundreds of cars of most manufacturers over the years. I even preferred it to the BMW 7 Series I had at one time. The 520d was actually the one I liked most as it didn’t feel a lot less powerful in real world driving than the 3.0 versions, was near silent, sh*t off a shovel and yet returned 47mpg with ease. Very cheap to run as well. So my first choice would be the 5 Series Touring, but I fear that my wife may struggle to get in and out of it, which would probably push me to the X3. Drove an old model of those but it was an M Sport with ‘upgraded’ alloys and the ride was atrocious, so would need to test drive the new model first. I absolutely love the look of the RR Evoque and have driven 3 of them (on road and off road), but all the previous model. As with all LR/RR cars I found them to be peerless off road but compromised on road. Hopefully that’s now been improved. Q5 would be last just because the styling is very dull!
