Just to add. Also horses for courses. If I regularly fully loaded up my Touran/Allspace, then a diesel probably a better bet. On the other hand, if fitted to a smaller, lighter car from VAG will be more than adequate. Agree with others, BMW engines and 8 speed torque converter gearbox excellent, as is their iDrive 7
