    Cars without “bells and whistles” are far less desirable on the 2nd hand car market and usually fetch much lower prices. This means that Motability would probably need to revise their calculations based on the residual value being lower which would mean higher AP’s. The manufacturers wouldn’t bring down the price of these basic cars enough to make it worthwhile. We have seen how a few of them have been greedy by taking what were standard features and making them an expensive optional extra, yet the price of that car has not reduced in price. You only have to look at VW with their latest models.
