Its great to see so many companies competing for the EV market. There won’t be an EV fuel bonus for too much longer, as the government are losing a lot on fuel duty, “so make hay while the sun shines”
I think that the EV fuel bonus will last in some form right upto the point that the last fossil rolls off the production line, fossil fuels will remain highly taxed like cigarettes until they’re extinct.
Then there will be the usual haves & have nots problem where people who can generate a fair amount of their own electricity will divert that into their cars whilst the government turns a blind-eye, together with everyone facing a tax on miles driven on certain roads (cities/motorways, wherever it’s easy to meter). The current fuel taxation system rewards city dwellers over rural dwellers & causes in part rural poverty, so it’s a good time to address this injustice.
