So the year has turned and the days are getting longer again – we even had a ‘Christmas Star’ in the west at sunset.
Gave the seed table, bird bath and drinking bowl a good clean yesterday but I can’t really tell if the punters have noticed or not. Earlier on I watched the young robin learn how to use the hanging fat-ball basket after it sat on the seed platform and studied the blue-tits using it. Until now he’s been fluttering around it but not landing. Well Done, little guy!
Now the starlings are demolishing the fat-balls and the blackbird in on the ground underneath, hoovering up all the bits. It is literally raining food for him. 🙂
