I’ve got my fingers and toes crossed for the superb estate IV to re appear. It’s a fantastic car.
I had a look at the Skoda Superb, we were looking for the iV model earlier this year when they came onto the scheme, unfortunately they did not have a estate model, but they allowed to view the hatchback, strangely when we told the salesman we were Motability customer he went a bit off and refused us a test drive and offer to contact us when they had a Superb Estate iV. I must admit the hatchback boot was enormous, but due to the high entrance lip would have been a problem with my scooter.
In the end the upfront cost was a decider, the Skoda Superb Estate iV attracted an AP of £3749 and as we tow a caravan we would also have to add the Skoda towing pack which factory dedicated wiring, engine cooling upgrades and factory tow bar at over £1000 (unfortunately you can use an aftermarket towing kit), so £4749 in total.
At the time the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV was only £1699 plus I had a aftermarket tow bar fitted for just under £500 so £2199, we could justify the difference of £2550 especially when you consider it will never own the car. So far in just over the first six months of our lease we are probably £300 + better off compared to our previous Motability diesel ford Kuga
Unfortunately I have suffered a brain injury and occasionally I get confused and often say the wrong thing.
