I think technology has had a massive effect on the fall of such accidents. As Wigwam says BMW’s beeps if it thinks I’m approaching another car without yet braking and flashes a light if it thinks I’m driving too close to another car. And of course, On my BMW when the red light comes on, it applies a degree of auto brake assist. This can be a pain while driving along narrow roads where cars are parked either side.
By far, my dash cams have had a huge impact on how I drive. As it records everything, it’s like having a police officer watching over your shoulder.
