Hi, I have just been awarded the “Enhanced Mobility” payment & was wondering if anyone could help me with a couple of questions please, as this is totally new to me. I understand about the monthly payment & advanced payment, however is it possible to wait for probably another year before I choose a car on the scheme, as the car I have at present is only 3 years old & I have just payed for an MOT & service just before I was awarded the Mobility payments. I understand if this is possible I would only get 2 years use out of the scheme hoping they will extend the payments as the condition I have is progressive. Yes, you are free to order whenever you like. The only stipulation is that you must have a minimum of 12 months award of the benefit/allowance that funds the scheme vehicle at the time you apply for the vehicle.
You then keep it for the 3yr duration of the lease normally. Paid for by your benefit/allowance.
If your allowance/benefit is not renewed though, Motability will take back the vehicle. See this page from their website for details:
