Hi Mark. Welcome. My understanding is that you can switch from the cash benefit to the car scheme at any time, provided you have at least 12 months future entitlement to mobility higher rate.
I’m relatively new to the scheme also, and no doubt others with more knowledge or experience will correct me if I’m wrong.
