Hi Lou, my wife has a X1 X drive and it’s a fantastic car. However it is the very powerful 25D. I have driven the 2.o petrol though and found that to be an excellent drive albeit a touch thirsty. The one that my wife has is a X line and the one I drove was a M Sport. I think the 4 wheel drive is excellent but you have to remember that it’s not permanent 4 wheel drive and it only cuts in when required. Personally if I was choosing a X1 I would definitely go for the 4 wheel drive as I’m a pretty spirited driver and would feel safer on less than perfect surfaces.
