Never pay the AP in advance as Motability do not allow you to pay the AP when ordering, it is only paid when collecting your car and any monies you pay the the dealer in advance would be purely a deposit between you and the dealer and if they went bust you would lose the money.
Paying a large deposit will never speed up the build process no matter what lies the dealer tells you.
