With just seeing some of the prices of q4 Ap I wonder where Motability can go from there, the prices are crazy. Paying 3k+ every 3 years year for a ‘premium’ badge is a lot, I know there will be cheaper cars available but I can’t help think that these cars are on just to make up the numbers. I’ll see what happens in 3 years when I’m next able to order to see if I’ll get another car but those who are able to order from 1/10 I feel sorry for

The Question is do the DWP pay the allowance for a premium badge? No they don’t and every april the gap gets bigger.

One of the big problems not mentioned is covid and it has affected production and the supply of new cars.

Operating costs have increased and less cars are rolling off the production lines as output is down.

It’s not really a surprise to me that prices are rising. Most people have less and less disposable income even before covid. Since the crash in 2008 things ain’t got better, infact they got worse as all they did was kick the can down the road and print more notes, now they printed even more. Well borrowed it, it’s all the same. More has been created devaluing it even more.

So in reality each note has less purchasing power than it did before. Just like a company issuing more shares, it devalues the original shares. So soon we will see everything cost more as they cannot make bars of chocolate any smaller than now. Imo it’s all relative..

Yes MBO is sitting on a huge pot of money but they buy the cars upfront and do we want it like getting a grant from the council were you gotta wait to the new financial year to get an application processed as all the funds have gone for the current year. Or in my old councils case they wait till jan then do crazy stuff just to get rid of surplus money before the new year kicks in.

They have increased the gcb to £600 which was a big help for me getting my last car on the scheme. So there is alot to be thankful for as well.
