The C-HR I had on hire was a 1.8 hybrid “Icon” model and it was awful, setting everything else that was wrong with it aside the one big problem I had with it was the adaptive cruise control, it did all the usual things, but it didn’t have any way to adjust the distance to other vehicles and at 70mph it set that distance at over 300 yards (measured it with the exit reminder boards on the motorway) and you just couldn’t make any progress on the motorway as it started to slow down way too far back from the vehicles in front and because it left such a large gap cars would just pull into the gap and it slowed down even more, only way to use it was to keep on the throttle to override it constantly, hardly cruise control when you have to have your foot on the gas for the entire time.
Well that’s just plain weird because I have the C-HR and the ACC works faultlessly for me!
You set the distance to the car in front by simply pressing a steering wheel button on the right. It sets the speed by 5 mph increments… or if you initially push the button on the end of the stalk, it’ll set it at 1 mph increments.
I recently drove all the way from Shepton Mallet in Somerset to Salisbury in Wiltshire using nothing but the ACC all the way!
