Its pretty amazing that today’s mass produced 1.0 3 cylinder turbo engines can make 120 plus bhp and over 60mpg.
The thing these engines don’t have is torque which is why they need reving so hard or they feel slow. Not exactly relaxed driving.
Add that to a heavy saloon or hatch back and it’s no wonder so many people wouldn’t want one.
Give me a 2.0 Tdi engine any day at least they will keep on pulling a full car up inclines without having to change down or throw a passenger out.
