This is where the Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations 2008 comes in. It was the replacement for the Trading Standards Act and covers misleading sales tactics.

The mind boggles how car dealerships get away with this kind of behaviour. And don’t be misled into thinking it’s only Motability it affects. It certainly is not.
Customer Service, in general, in the UK is shocking and if compared to the U.S., is a million miles apart.
I’ve said this before here. I have worked for many years for a company where I had customers all over the globe. If I’d have treated my customers the same as UK car dealers treat their customers, I’d have been sacked. And I’d have expected to be.
Which is why I say again and again, if you find a good dealer that’s knowledgeable and forthcoming with information, it’s worth clinging on to them. If it suits of course!
The only problem there, is that sales persons rarely stay in one dealership for very long.
I’ve had one instance where, from ordering to pick up, I had three salesmen!

For my current order, I placed it early July and the salesman said on the day that delivery would be towards the end of September but he said, “I’ll confirm within one week”.
Not heard a dicky boo since!

? I will be remembered for nothing but had great fun doing it ?
